journal 4

In chapter 11 The Details of Life I believe the most important aspect is that the people don't see these children as anything more than being entry level workers. I feel Kozol gets upset when he hears people talk down on the kids, because he knows what they want to be when they grow up and believes they can be like  "perhaps a future doctor, dancer, artist, poet, priest, psychologist, or teacher" (page 139) Pineapple and Elio are both smart kids and are good in what they are already.

  1. Kozol is an aspiring figure in this chapter as he compliments the chidrens existence in bronx. Both of them kids are also active kids in St. Anns.
