She is a very hard worker and I strive to be able to pick up her different study skills that she has acquired. She is a very influential person in my life and hope to be a good Buckeye like her.

Jake McCluskey

My name is Jake McCluskey. I am from Cincinnati where I went to Moeller for high school and played sports. My favorite sport was football and I played defensive end and won state my senior year. My fun fact is that my father and I have matching tattoos that represent our state championships our senior years.

My favorite buckeye story was when the football team was playing in the sugar bowl and my brothers roomate, Reid Fragel, was the tight end that year and he caught a pass for a huge gain. Reid Fragel is 6'8 310 pounds now and plays for the Cincinnati Bengals but before he reached the bengals he had to put in alot of hard work. It was the end of his junior year and he had made the decsion to move from tight end to offensive tackle, knowing that was the only way he could make it to the NFL.  He went from 275 to 310 in the off-season. His transaction from tight end to tackle was so impressive that Urban Meyer named an award after him for a player that switches opposite positions, starts at the position, and succeeds.

Kyle Gabbert

Hello my name is Kyle Gabbert and currently undecided with my mind on business. I played both Golf and Lacrosse in high school were i was 4 year letterman in both golf and lacrosse. I am the first in my family to attended The Ohio State University in my family. My favorite buckeye would have to be Thad Matta because of his kindness in front of the camera and his performance on the court with his team. Thad is one of two coaches nationally to post 20 wins in each of his 13 seasons as head coach. The things that Thad has done that amazes me is the way he deals with his players. He shows them discipline at every practice, while at every game he tries his hardest to reward them with a win. Growing up playing basketball and other sports i always fallowed buckeye athletics but i loved to watch Thad and the basketball team. Thad is one of my idles for one reason and one reason only, he performs with his team on the court and played amazingly aggressive defense.

Zach Nappi

I'm a current freshman, taking classes at both OSU's Marion and Delaware Branch's. I have a fascination with History, as well as the military and warfare. I like to travel, kayak, hike, box, and I plan to see the world! A career in the government's security and defense program has caught my eye; or I can fulfill my goal by joining the military (becoming an officer) and see all parts of the world.

My favorite Buckeye would have to be my grandfather. He enrolled at OSU in the early 1950's and studied dentistry, where he later opened up his own dentist practice in Puyallup, Washington. He has become the smartest and most successful person that i know. Both me and my brother became Buckeye's because of his presence at this great university many decades ago.

Welcome to our 1109.01 class blog!

Welcome to our class Blog!

Hello students and welcome to our blog.  Today, let's work to get everyone on the blog and learn how to use its features.

Our address is 1109at830.blogspot.com but the simple way to find the blog is to either bookmark it or just go to blogger.com when you are signed into your Gmail and it will show you the blogs you belong to.

The first thing you must do is get a Gmail account.  Then, using that Gmail address, please write to me at mikelohre@gmail.com and I will invite you to the blog.   You must accept the invite and follow the steps in order to use the blog.  Let’s do this in class.

Once you are a member, you will see your Gmail address appear in the upper right hand corner, and only then can you post to the blog.

--To do a New Post, you must again find that link in the upper right hand corner.  Click New Post and a window will appear to let you compose.

Please title all your writings, and use a username that is either your name or nickname so we know who is writing.  Only class members will be on this blog.

GOALS:
For your first post, write one paragraph where you introduce yourself and some things about you, including your Fun Fact or something unique.  That way we can always have this on the blog as a way of knowing and remembering each other.

In your next paragraph, share your favorite Buckeye story.  I think it's important to recognize our influences and those who came before us, so tell us about your favorite Buckeye and what this person means to you.

Finish by posting either a picture of your favorite Buckeye or of yourself to the blog.  Let's learn to use images with our posts, and it is both fast and easy to do.

Good luck, have fun, and just let me know when you need help!  This first day is all about getting comfortable with the blog, and for some of you, this will take time.

All best,
Mike Lohre

P.S. If ever you don't finish an assignment on here, or if you just want to revise, sign into the blog and then go back to the pencil icon on your post.  If you click it, it will take you right back into your writing, and you can update, add, subtract, and edit easily.

This is my wife Irene, who was originally born in the Phillipines before moving to the States.  Also pictured are two friends from China as I run a summer program at OSU for Chinese students and Irene often helps me during the summer.
To remind you my fun fact was that I like to ride motorcycles and I once rode in Australia and Asia!
Hope you guys enjoy using this blog and find it easy to do once you get used to it.
